Award-Winning Macro Photography Success for Benji C
A huge听congratulations听to Benji C in Second Year, who has won the Royal Entomological Society鈥檚 2025 Photography Competition. His incredible winning macro photograph was entered in the Under 18 category, and he also had two further photographs that were highly commended. His picture has already been featured on BBC Newsround and in听The Telegraph.

The Royal Entomological Society recently unveiled the winners of its annual Photography Competition, showcasing a stunning series of close-up images that reveal the hidden beauty and fascinating lives of insects. From intricate macro portraits to dynamic moments captured in the wild, the winning photographs offer a rare glimpse into miniature worlds.
听
Run by the UK鈥檚 leading insect science charity, the annual competition celebrates the growing community of amateur insect photographers. This year鈥檚 competition drew over 3,000 entries from around the world, the largest number ever received by the Society, with photographs taken in more than 110 different countries. Benji鈥檚 success in such a highly competitive international field is an extraordinary achievement.

One of the judges Tim Cockerill, 鈥痾oologist, broadcaster and photographer鈥�, 鈥淭he standard was exceptionally high this year, which made picking overall winners quite a tricky prospect. The winner and runner-up really stood out though, as being wonderful examples of the way that insects interact with ecosystems, while also forming a significant part of the same.鈥澨�

In addition, Benji has recently discovered that four of his photographs have reached the final round of judging in the Natural History Museum鈥檚 鈥榃ildlife Photographer of the Year鈥�. The winners will be announced in March.
